Max Delbrück Center for Molecular Medicine (MDC) Berlin-Buch

The Max Delbrück Center for Molecular Medicine is a major biomedical research institutewhich aims to translate discoveries from molecular research into applications to improve the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of major human diseases.

The MDC has placed special emphasis on systems biology, and a major new program has been initiated by Nikolaus Rajewsky, the Berlin Institute for Medical Systems Biology (BIMSB).

The lab develops a variety of genomic assays based on novel sequencing technology. They apply these assays in the identification and molecular characterization of genetic causes of congenital diseases. A major focus is on the role of transcriptional and post-transcription regulation in disease context. In DEEP consortium, the lab is responsible for ‘Deciphering the ncRNome & Transcriptome analysis’ .
